Cindy and I are hosting (yep that means we are paying for it) a dynamic social media workshop just for real estate professionals! 

The date is Tuesday, April 13^th from 11-1PM at the Columbine Library.  We only have seating for 92 people and will take RSVPs first come first served. 

Laptops will are recommended, but I have to caution that we will not have power for the laptops, bring them charged up.  If you’d rather not bring your laptop, that is OK as we will provide handouts.

The agenda will be Facebook, Facebook Advertising, Twitter and a discussion on the benefits of LinkedIIn.  This presentation will be put on by Mike O’Neil and Lori Ruff of Integrated Alliances.  They have written a top selling book about Linked In ( www.rocktheworldbook.com ) and are experts on Twitter and Facebook as well.

I always look at a workshop and try to judge the value by the credentials of the presenter.  For example, my twitter site:  http://twitter.com/HolstCreditGrp that has 15 followers.   Would you rather go to a workshop where the presenter has 34,000 followers?  Lori’s twitter site has that: http://twitter.com/loriruff and Mike has 32,000 followers: http://twitter.com/mikeoneildenver.

On LinkedIn, Lori has 14,000 connections http://linkedin.com/loriruff  and she is the 9^th most connected LinkedIn woman in the world. With 28,000 connection at http://linkedin.com/mikeoneil Mike is the 27^th highest ranked person the platform of 60 million users.

On facebook, they have over 3,000 friends each and their fan page http://www.facebook.com/mikeoneildenver has more than 1000 followers. They have helped their clients achieve much success too, not just in building their networks, but in getting real results from their use of social media.

I went Mike and Lori’s LinkedIn workshop and I must say it was not only informative; it was a lot of fun.  As odd as it sounds they incorporate music (mostly 70’s classic rock) references into their presentation.  It really is very entertaining.

If you aren’t familiar with these tools, this will be a great introduction; even if you have experience, you are sure to learn much from these masters of social media.  But I have to warn you; this is just an introduction.  There is no way you can learn everything about these three topics in two hours. 

The Linked In workshop that I went to was 2 ½ hours and dove deep into the realm of LinkedIn Profiles.  To become an ace at LinkedIn I want to attend an additional 3-day workshop.  There really is a lot to learn, but you will learn enough to get started or if you have already started, this will get you to the next level.

As we are doing this as a gift for our clients, to meet RESPA guidelines we will ask that each guest donate $10 to either the Kiwanis Club of Grant Ranch or to the Professional Miracle Network.   Nothing is ever free, is it? But you would have to agree this is well worth your investment and time!
